Do you remember the phrase “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”?
That is the feeling I had this summer, until I realized I could get up! This summer I enjoyed lots of family time spent enjoying good food, the great outdoors, and good times. But, at the height of my summertime bliss the reality of summer ending and sending our Elly off to college set in.
Slowly, the FEAR of Change, Uncertainty, and the Unknown started to build. My thoughts were all over the place and for a brief period I found myself back on a roller coaster of emotions hanging on for dear life!
Could I let go? Could I handle this change? What will happen next? Help!!!! “I’ve Fallen And I CAN’T Get Up!”
Not Physically, but Emotionally and Mentally.
As my wise mother would say, “this too shall pass,” I stepped back and began to accept that life is changing and with that comes Uncertainty, and the Unknown. Instead of fighting the feelings, I decided to embrace them. Once I made that decision, things started to calm down.
My work this year is to make sense of the startling fact that nothing stays the same for long; our bodies, relationships, work, and children. It ‘s more about your mindset and what you make of the transition.
Without a “medical alert system, ” the TOOLS that I began using to gain some clarity are Structure, Discipline, and Self Love.
I decided to:
1. Clean up my food and drink
2. Get to bed at a decent hour
3. Wake up to set my daily intention
4. Get my body moving at an early hour
Once I set these 4 intentions in motion that’s when the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place and I was able pull myself out of the hole I put myself in…. Now…I Have Fallen And I CAN Get Up!
